Important Updates for canine-artist.com

Time management is essential for artists, especially when they work from home studios. In order to maximize my time spent painting, I am in the process of consolidating my different websites and blogs into just the one on my main site http://michellewrighton.com
which has been re-designed, had new work and a blog added.

"Wise One" Orangutan Acrylic Painting

"Wise One" was awarded first place in the Animals and Wildlife section in a local art show that I entered it in last year (2007).

The sadness in this beautiful creature's eyes compelled me to create this artwork. Orangutans are facing extinction in the wild due to destruction of their native forest habitat in Borneo and Sumatra, where the rainforests are being destroyed at an alarming rate for cultivation of palm oil plantations.
